When computers are
sent to an e-recycling
center, energy and
recources are spent in
breaking down and
salvaging and reusing
the platic, glass and
electronic components.
That is much preferred
to the waste that occurs
when taking computers to
the trash or dump.
However, many
educational and
productivity tasks
require surprisingly
little horsepower versus
most modern machines
that are manufactured
with at least moderate
hardcore gaming in mind.
Repurposing computers
helps limit the carbon
footprint required to
produce new electronic
items.
